35,000 at Brussels Pride.

Those European's sure know how to party!     The streets of the Belgian capital were buzzing yesterday,  (Saturday)  with thousands and thousands of people.      Some 35,OOO   people took to the streets of the usually quite  historic centre of the Belgian capital,  to make the International Day Against Homophobia and Brussels Pride!

The colourful and excited marchers  addressed calls for equality to the European Union's new permanent president Herman Van Rompuy and to their countrymen, as Belgium is to take over the EU presidency in a couple of months,

Gay and lesbian Belgians are calling for a rapid acceptance and implementation of  anti - discrimination European Union  directive,  which is  being discussed by minsters at the moment.

Some of the marchers and  protesters yesterday  also spoke up  regarding gay rights  in other parts of the world, especially Africa and the Middle East,  currently making headline news around the world.
