Nepal Tourism Targets 200,000 LGBT Tourists This Year

Nepal  wants loads more gays and lesbians!
Yes,  it’s true  the Nepal tourism office  wants to attract 200,000 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people to the region.  They believe that LGBT tourists will contribute up to 20 % of the tourist arrivals this year.

An organization representing sexual minorities in Nepal, Blue Diamond Society (BDS) is confident to attract 200,000 LGBT tourists in 2011. Nepal has started to gain more attention from the the LGBT community following since  2007.       Supreme Court of Nepal asked the government to grant citizenship to LGBT community people and form same-sex marriage committee for the sexual minorities. Since then LGBT tourist arrivals in Nepal has increased.
