Gay man marries transsexual woman in Cuba’s first gay wedding!

A gay dissident and a transsexual woman married on Saturday in what was said to be a first for Cuba, then draped themselves in the rainbow flag of gay pride and rode through the streets of Havana.

Cuba Stages First Gay Pride

 

It wasn’t big in terms of numbers, but it was massive in terms of advancement for equality, awareness and acceptance.   The very first Cuban Pride has taken place,   ok,  so there  were just a few people taking place, not much more than a dozen or so.  But,  these few brave souls made a massive stand on the  road to gay rights recognition in the country.

Cuba Parade Says No to Homophobia

 

The beautiful yet poor Island of Cuba is saying a bright and big fat No to homophobia!

 

The 23rd Street in Havana’s Vedado district was chaperoned by the police, as hundreds of gay, lesbian and transsexual people held a colourful parade down the city centre boulevard.  It was only a short march, which began at the cascading Malecon fountain, a few blocks from Pabellon Cuba – the center of this year’s near-month-long “Campaign against Homophobia.”
