Lynch at the emmys....
Jane Lynch hosted America’s Primetime Emmy Awards this weekend, opening the show with a skit that saw her flirting with a Mad Men cast member.
Lynch professed her love for the small screen in the form of a song entitled ‘TV Is A Vast Wonderland’, with the idea that television was just one huge TV set.
The musical number included Lynch visiting the set of 60s drama, Mad Men, where she flirted with Elizabeth Moss' character Peggy.
Lynch told the cast: “A lot has changed since 1955, women
can marry other women. Hi Peggy,” before shooting Moss a flirty look.
Moss replied: “Does that mean that women don't have to sleep with men anymore to make it to the top?”
To which Lynch dryly replied: “They still have to do that.”
Following the montage skit, Lynch burst onto the stage of the LA award show mid-song, accompanied by gold shimmering showgirls and tuxedo clad men.
Lynch missed out on the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series to Modern Family's Julie Bowen.
Following the defeat, Lynch said: “I'd like to amend what I said earlier about there being no winners or losers, there are losers and I am one.
“If I didn't have to host the rest of the show, I'd be eating a tub of turkey meatballs at home… in the dark.”
Glee only managed to pick up one award for Gwyneth Paltrow’s cameo, with the actress taking home the award for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
Meanwhile Modern Family and Downtown Abbey ruled the ceremony, both taking home four awards.
