Conservative MP Mike Weatherley joined members of LGBTory for Brighton Pride's annual parade on Saturday.
The 54 year-old, who is the Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, march through the city with fellow advocates of Brighton Pride, reported the UK’s Pink Paper.
Thousands of people attended the event, which was the first year to charge an entrance fee. An advocate of gay rights, Weatherley has staunchly supported the Brighton Pride for many years.
Commenting, he said: “It was great day for Brighton & Hove and I was proud to walk alongside fellow supporters of gay rights. As well as supporting the parade, I am about to write to the Prime Minister about the inequality that exists for same-sex couples when it comes to marriage.
"I’m glad that it was such a successful weekend and I look forward taking part again next year.”
