Lady Gaga is big down under. She rocked them on the TV and she’s amazed them with her wonderful stand for gay rights and gay marriage. In addition, the superstar, often said to be the most powerful woman in the world, was given the title of honorary citizen of Sydney, purely for last her support of gay rights.
Lord Mayor Clover Moore, gave her the honour and told how she was a “powerful force” for gay people after she urged Australia to have marriage equality “Lady Gaga has been a powerful force for the gay and lesbian community in Sydney and we have a rare honour for people whose achievements embrace the ideals and spirit of our city – the title of ‘honorary citizen of Sydney’ He told reporters, adding “I would like to pay tribute to her for using her star power to focus the world’s attention on the prejudice still directed at gay men and women.”
As detailed in Sydney Morning Herald, Lady Gaga headed out on to the town to wow the crowds in the night club’s and on the street, in a walkabout. A raunchy and evocative dance routine was given in one of the gay clubs.
