Flying the Gay Flag Means You Have a Serious Deficiency.

rainbow%20flag[1]A show of support,  an acknowledgement of the struggle for equality for the gay community?   A symbol of unity?

It seems that the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank's decision to fly the gay pride flag outside of its building, below the American flag, has outraged a Virginia lawmaker, who wants taken down right away.

In a letter to Richmond Federal Bank President, Jeffrey Lacker,  the Republican state delegate Robert Marshall, called the flag "a serious deficiency of judgment by your organization, one not limited to social issues," according to the Richmond Times Dispatch.

Marshall claimed that the homosexual behaviour "celebrated" by the bank "undermines the American economy" and is a felony in the state, the newspaper reported.

"The Richmond Fed's endorsement of costly, anti-social, immoral behaviour is rejected by 6,000 years of Western Religious and moral teaching," wrote Marshall, a conservative lawmaker who is an outspoken critic of gay rights. "You want the American people to trust your [judgment] in economic matters when your spokesperson celebrates an attack on public morals?"

Sally Green, the bank's first vice president and chief operating officer, told the newspaper earlier this week that the bank is flying the flag "as an example of our commitment to the values of acceptance and inclusion."

Perhaps the flawmaker,  who could only have been a Republican should look more at the facts,   gay and lesbian persons, on average earn above average salaries, spend up to 6 times more in the local community than their straight counterparts.  Are 3 times more likely to support local charities, therefor more likely to strengthen the American economy,  as for 6000 years of western religion -  I wonder which one he’s actually talking about?  Christianity – ahh  that was very approximately some 2000 years later -  if you believe the stories.
