Gay Haters Donates $1.5M To Fight Equality In New York

Google muted as one of the supporters.

Opponents of gay marriage in New York got national funding this week as  lobbyists, clergy, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and legislators head for a six-week legalization showdown with global implications.

The $1.5 million pledged by the Washington-based National Organization for Marriage comes with the organization's expertise after recent success against same-sex marriage bills in Maryland, Rhode Island and in a New York congressional primary.  There is also some internet speculation that one of the funders of this money is none other that internet giant Google.   Rumours' of Google’s involvement after it was leaked by staff at the London office that the global giant had given money to a campaign to stop the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.  Then staff at the UK office were ordered not to communicate with the media and gay members of staff especially asked to cease working with the gay pride group of office sharers American Express. Google,  notoriously difficult to get to comment on information that doesn’t originate from themselves have so far not responded to any branches of the gay media.

As New York is a major world city,  with lots of attention those who oppose equality for American citizens and gay marriage are keen to see that it doesn’t get approved.
