Aussies Ban Gay Zombie Porn ?

I hear from down under,  that the  Australian film  censor has banned a film from being shown at the Melbourne International Film Festival!

It would appear that it's for the first time in seven years that a film has been banned by the censor!   According to local media  the festival director Richard Moore got a letter Monday from the Film Classification Board stating that   'L.A. Zombie'    which is the latest offering from king provocateur Bruce LaBruce, could not be screened as it would in his opinion be refused classification  -  pretty much too porno like according to unofficial sources!

In general the festival isn't generally required to submit films for classification, but this time,  after reading a synopsis of the plot , the board requested a DVD to watch.  It was after the gay zombie movie was watched that it was refused an exemption notice.   The last film to get banned  from the festival circuit was Larry Clark's Ken Park in 2003.

Apparently  this   'gay zombie porn' movie follows the usual  LaBruce way of being  deliberately B-grade and arty  and  follows an alien zombie  around the streets of LA in his search of dead bodies,   to basically have sex with and  ''shagging'' the deceased back to life.    It's said to be rather graphic in terms  full frontal nudity and erections.

Festival director Richard Moore  told local media  ''Bruce LaBruce's blend of sex and violence can be confronting, but I would argue that within the context of the festival, it is nonsensical and patronising to not allow people to decide what they want to see.''

The censor has so far refused to make further comment.
