Apparently actor Mickey Rourke wants to play gay rugby player Gareth Thomas in a film biopic of his coming out, reports suggest today.
The 57-year-old allegedly contacted the rugby ace to discuss how his story could work on the big screen.
The leading sportsman - who is ninth in the world on the all-time Test try scoring list - sensationally came out in December, last year.
Emmanuele Palladino, Thomas's manager and publicist, told the METRO: "The next step is for us to agree the terms of the film with Mickey's management, then it'll be a question of getting script sorted."
"The fact that the talent himself called him personally and showed an interest in his story, was very flattering - and very surprising too."
"A deeply engaging and personal blog, laced with wit, humour, and a healthy dose of reality" Borstal Boy, Writer, UK.
