Eminem Supports Gay Marriage.
US rapper Eminem has at least started to mellow and has spoken out in favour of gay marriage, well sort of. "I think I've calmed down a bit," Eminem told the New York Times Magazine, in an article to be published on Sunday.
"My overall look on things is a lot more mature than it used to be." back then, say in 2000 when the Marshall Mathers album was in the charts it included the lyric "Hate fags? The answer's 'yes'."
Eminem appeared to jump the fence and be more 'tolerant' of gay people in 2001, sowing this by kissing Elton John at the Grammy awards. Then perhaps he went back to type with a few gay slurs the record Without Me. Yet, recently, promising to leave out homophobic lyrics at UK shows, and now he's going even further by defending gay marriage. "I think if two people love each other, then what the hell?" he said. "I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want."
Could this see a turning point in the rappers life, you never know, we might even see the rapping superstar blasting out a gay anthem, I for one would love to see and hear a rap version of 'I am what I am' or 'Dancing Queen' Though I suppose I shouldn't hold my breath, but hey, stranger things have happened - maybe!
