Defense Rests In Lexington Murder Trial

 

The defense rested its case Wednesday morning in the murder trial of a Lexington man accused of gunning down his boyfriend in a mall parking lot in 2009.

Toby Lasure, 33, is accused of shooting Christopher Tolliver to death in the parking lot of Lexington Green in March 5, 2009, because, according to prosecutors, Tolliver tried to end their relationship.

The defense called Dr. Peter Scillong to the stand Wednesday morning. He testified that he was paid by Lasure's family to act as his psychologist after he was arrested for the murder. He testified that Lasure did not seem grossly mentally I'll, but disillusioned. He diagnosed Lasure with post traumatic stress disorder.
