Its supposedly the gayest gay friendly comedy on mainstream American TV, even though the Fox Network, has tried to de-gay the show and force on a more religious tone to the show. But now, Glee, has gone one step further! It’s being slated in the media for picking a provocative track to cover from convicted paedophile Gary Glitter.
In this salacious episode, Gwyneth Paltrow pops it out with a version of ”Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Oh Yeah)” to a group of the high school kids during a sex education class.
Gary Glitter who co-wrote the track back around 1973 and will pocket royalties for the shows use of the song, which is angering many in the media and elsewhere. Kids charity Kidscape said the inclusion of the track was “wholly inappropriate”. Dee Matthews a teacher feels the same, “It’s an utter disgrace to have a convicted child rapist profiting from being played in what is a kids tv show”
“Its not been very well thought out, or someone’s research was deeply floored. I personally don’t think a convicted and repeat child predator such as Glitter, or Paul Gadd, to give him his real name, show profit from having one of his 70’s glam rock tracks covered in an entertainment show aimed at children” Say gay rights campaigner and blogger Jason Shaw, adding “What’s perhaps more worrying is the possibility that he will be more accepted in by the very people he is a danger to”
The ‘Sexy’ episode will be shown next week in the US.
