In 1999, she established, and now leads, a designated team to manage THT’s high profile policy and social campaigns work. As Policy Director, her work ranges from lobbying Parliamentarians to ensuring that the voices of people with HIV and other stakeholders are heard within THT and in health policy.

A co-founder of both Stonewall and the Pink Paper, Lisa has been consistently involved in human rights campaigns for the past 25 years, first as a writer and activist for LGBT rights and then, since the 1980s, in HIV and sexual health. She spent fourteen years working on Lesbian & Gay Switchboard, and wrote the definitive oral history of London’s Gay Liberation Front.
During her four years as Secretary General of the International Lesbian and Gay Association, Lisa became the first openly LGBT person to speak at the United Nations on behalf of gay rights.
